Whether you're visiting us for a medical skin condition, hair loss evaluation, cosmetic treatment, or skin cancer screening, our team is committed to making your experience seamless from the moment you schedule your appointment.

Before Your Appointment

To help us provide the best care possible, please complete any requested paperwork prior to your visit through the patient portal whenever possible.

Please bring:

  • A valid government-issued photo ID

  • Your insurance card (if applicable)

  • A list of your current medications

  • Previous dermatology records or pathology reports if available

  • A list of any questions or concerns you'd like to discuss

Arrival

Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow time for check-in and any remaining paperwork.

If you arrive late, we will do our best to accommodate you. Depending on the amount of time remaining, your appointment may need to be shortened or rescheduled so we can stay on schedule for all patients.

Preparing for Your Visit

Depending on the reason for your appointment, these recommendations may help:

General Dermatology

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the affected area.

  • Remove makeup if your facial skin is being evaluated.

  • Avoid applying heavy lotions or oils to areas being examined.

Hair Loss Consultations

Please arrive with clean, dry hair.

Avoid:

  • Hair fibers

  • Colored dry shampoo

  • Heavy styling products

  • Hats immediately before the visit

These products can interfere with scalp examination and hair density assessment.

Cosmetic Consultations

Come prepared to discuss your goals and any previous cosmetic treatments.

If you've previously received fillers or neurotoxins elsewhere, please let us know approximately when they were performed.

Payment

Payment is expected at the time of service.

Financing options may be available for cosmetic procedures.

Cancellation & No-Show Policy

At Lux Dermatology Hair & Skin Institute, we are committed to providing timely, personalized care to every patient. Because appointments are reserved specifically for you, missed appointments and late cancellations prevent other patients from receiving care and leave valuable appointment times unused.

We understand that unexpected situations can arise. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that you provide at least 24 business hours' notice.

Medical Dermatology Appointments

Medical appointments that are canceled with less than 24 business hours' notice or missed without notice are subject to a $50 late cancellation/no-show fee.

Cosmetic & Surgical Appointments

Cosmetic consultations, cosmetic procedures, and surgical appointments require additional preparation, scheduling, and reserved treatment time.

Appointments that are canceled with less than 24 business hours' notice or missed without notice are subject to a $100 late cancellation/no-show fee.

Insurance & Self-Pay

Lux Dermatology Hair & Skin Institute welcomes both insured and self-pay (direct-pay) patients.

We are currently in-network with:

  • TRICARE

  • Medicare

Coverage and patient responsibility vary by individual insurance plan. Patients without insurance are welcome, and transparent self-pay pricing is available.

Please note: Cosmetic services and hair restoration treatments are generally not covered by insurance.
